I make playlists on Spotify mostly consisting music from the '70s, '80s, and the early '90s. But on the albums I have saved are totally off with the playlists. Things like Michael Buble and random trumpeters who I've only heard one song by. I need to clean up my Spotify stuff soon.

I really do think I should have been a teenager in the eighties. I was born in 1990, so that idea was dashed. ....  I listened to a lot of angry music as a teen. If I hear it now, it just bothers me to pieces, making me wonder why I even listened to that crap.  I don't even know who listened to now. I do know I learned to enjoy an angry piano thru The Dresden Dolls. Now, I LOVE a good acoustic guitar. :D Craig Chaquico, Acoustic Alchemy, Acoustic Cafe CD from Romancing the Stone store in the mall. I want to learn guitar, but I'll have to have a junior guitar since my mom's guitar is way to big for me.  It took over and you might would have seen a hand trying to play chords....Now i have ukulele!  I hope to play along with Jimmy Buffett CDs in the future.

Music is my life. Hell, I get emotional at most Olympic opening ceremonies; we had to change the channel for the Chinese one....I was crying...I also used to cry at the Sheba cat food commercial when I was a toddler. If anyone changed it to something else, it would get worse, so back to Sheba we went. XD

It practically is the 80's again, especially in certain countries, heh.
I was a kid in the 80's, it was interesting. When I was a teen I actually listened to mostly classic rock, and some modern (90's) rock. I don't even listen to that much anymore, now it is mostly metal and electronic/dance.

I used to be a very musical person when I was a teen, I even started learning how to play the guitar (but gave up in a few months because of my mental health). Back then I would listen mostly to Japanese music, from pop rock to heavy metal. Eventually I stuck with heavy metal and it made my family's life hell because I would listen to loud music in my room. But then when I was 15 I had a British music phase. I was really into The Beatles and Rolling Stones. Then I switched to punk rock and 90s and early 2000s britpop and it's like that to this day. I'm really into Manic Street Preachers, it's my favorite band. I also like The Libertines and The Clash. But these days I only listen to music when I exercise or travel, and it's always the same playlist (Manics-Libertines-Clash). I should look for something else to listen to, but I don't have the time or I'm too lazy.

I think everyone listens to angry and/or whiny music as a teen. I think it's the hormones.

I'm a fan of 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s music--though I really hate some stuff in the 80s and 90s. I kinda skip the 2000s (there are some exceptions), but I do like some current stuff sometimes.

I also like some off the wall things, too. Sea shanties. Have you heard of of the Medieval Baebes? Ha. https://www.amazon.com/Mirabilis-Mediaeval-Baebes/dp/B0009VBU5Y/ref=ntt_mus_dp_dpt_3

For a while in my teens, I really went for Celtic folk music. And I'm always a fan of Tchaikovsky.

I was a pre-teen in the late eighties and the hits I remember on the radio and what I hear now on retro-discs aren't the same. That said, I miss that late 80s-to-mid-90s musical period. It shaped a lot of the way I think about music.

You are never to young to appreciate a good 80s song!
